IPL 2024 KKR vs PBKS: Kolkata and Hyderabad boast the best opening partnership in IPL 2024. The duo of Narine-Salt is competing with Abhishek-Head in every aspect of the game. These two openers have helped Kolkata touch the 200-run mark in almost every match.

The deadly duo was once again on fire against Punjab Super Kings on Friday. The two tore down the Punjab bowling thanks to some very bad fielding. Both Salt and Narine were dropped once and they made sure to make the most of their chances.

Both of them put up a stand of 138 runs in just 10 overs. By the time Narine got out in the 11th over, KKR was already closing in on 150 -the run mark. Because of that, KKR achieved its second-highest total in IPL history finishing at 261/6.

IPL 2024 KKR vs PBKS: The Salt-Narine Storm

Both Narine and Salt started bashing bowlers from the first over. Narine was dropped in the third over itself while Sam Curran dropped Phil Salt in the sixth over. Both of them made sure to punish Punjab for this crime.

Salt scored 75 runs in just 37 deliveries with a strike rate of 202. But it was Sunil Narine, who was the real star. He scored 71 runs in just 32 deliveries with a sensational strike rate of 221.

After that, a few cameos from Andre Russell, Shreyas Iyer, and Ramandeep Singh made sure that KKR touched that 250-run mark once again. This was the first time that Punjab has conceded 200 runs in IPL 2024.

Narine For Orange Cap

Sunil Narine has been in blistering form so far in this IPL. His resurrected form has resulted him in being one of the most feared batsmen of the tournament so far. He is once again in the race for an orange cap as he climbs to the second spot.

He has now 357 runs only behind Virat Kohli, who has 430 runs to his name. The difference is that Narine is scoring with a Strike Rate of 184. Only Travis Head has more strike rate than Narine in the Top 10 run scorer list.
