IPL 2026: Mustafizur Rahman who was bought by Shahrukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) would not be playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

IPL 2026: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that Bangladesh speedster Mustafizur Rahman who was bought by Shahrukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) would not be playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

IPL 2026: End of road for Pakistani and Bangladeshi players?

Famously known as “The Fizz”, Mustafizur is known as the one of the most bankable left-arm pacers in the world of cricket.

He has featured in the IPL with five different franchises: Sunrisers Hyderabad (2016-2017), Mumbai Indians (2018), Rajasthan Royals (2021), Delhi Capitals (2022–2023, 2025) and Chennai Super Kings (2024).

The Bangladeshi pacer was bought by KKR for a massive ₹9.20 crore for IPL 2026.

Till date, the pacer has participated in 60 IPL matches, scalping an impressive 65 wickets at an economy rate of 8.13.

This means that there would be no place from any player from Pakistan and Bangladesh in IPL 2026.

Why was Mustafizur Rahman Pulled Out Of IPL 2026?

In recent times, the atrocities of Bangladeshi authorities and people against Hindus and minorities led to calls for the removal of Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL team. Many Hindus were brutally assaulted, mobbed and set ablaze. Several seers and political leaders made the call and some even termed Shahrukh Khan as a traitor.
