IPL Auction 2021: Gambhir, Nehra expressed disappointment on Umesh Yadav’s price money

In the auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL), Umesh Yadav was bought by Delhi Capitals for his base price of Rs 1 crore. Former Indian team opener Gautam Gambhir expressed surprise at the price that Umesh Yadav got. He said that, it is very surprising news, there are not many bowlers in the world who can bowl at a speed of 135-140 km per hour.

Gautam Gambhir said, “Delhi have played the right bet by buying Yadav. Along with Ishant Sharma, the team needed such an experienced Indian fast bowler. Apart from Ishant, the team had the option of fast bowling only Tushar Deshpande. Now after Umesh’s arrival, there is hope that the team’s performance will improve further. ” At the same time, he said, “I am surprised by Umesh Yadav bought for just Rs 1 crore. Yes his performance is full of ups and downs but when he is in form, he is very difficult to play.”

Former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra also agrees with Gambhir’s talk. He said, “Jhye Richardson and Kyle Jamieson have been bought at a very high price, while it is disappointing to buy an Indian fast bowler like Umesh Yadav for just one crore rupees. This is not justice with this experienced player.”
