Ishan Kishan: Star double-centurion WARNED by referee, Opener could have been suspended for four matches, know reason here

Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan: During the first ODI, Ishan Kishan tried to attempt a stumping but his efforts were called-out for cheating. This is so because there was no ball in his hands, and he was trying to deceive everyone. The referee’s decision has been finally out on the matter.

A warning has been issued to Kishan by ICC Match Referee Javagal Srinath. Ishan Kishan could have received a 4-match suspension, according to a report in New Zealand media. In order to obtain an unfair edge during the first ODI, Kishan was accused of “deceiving an Umpire.” Srinath allegedly decided not to take any further action, according to the reports.

What happened in the first ODI?

According to the report, when the Indian Wicket-Keeper batsman appealed for Black Caps skipper Tom Latham’s wicket, he blatantly tried to trick the umpire.

In the first ODI in Hyderabad, Kishan attempted to dupe the square leg umpire into thinking Latham had stepped on his own stumps. Kishan pleaded for Latham to be dismissed, but replays revealed that on his second try, the wicketkeeper intentionally knocked off a bail with his empty glove. Long after Latham had struck the ball, this was completed.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian team, was also puzzled. Before making his appeal, he questioned the wicketkeeper about what was happening with his request for the dismissal of Tom Latham, the captain of New Zealand, during the first ODI of the series in Hyderabad.

Referee Nitin Menon warns Ishan Kishan

According to the report, it is a level 3 offence as stated in the ICC Code of Conduct. As he attempted to obtain an unfair advantage, Kishan ought to have been charged with the level 3 offence. The player is debarred from playing in four to twelve ODIs or Twenty20 international matches result of this accusation.

Because neither umpire Anil Chaudhary nor referee Nitin Menon seem to have formally reported Kishan for the incident, the report claims that Srinath did nothing. Even so, Srinath had separate conversations with Kishan, Indian captain Rohit Sharma, and coach Rahul Dravid. India swept the opening two ODIs to take the series. In Indore, the decisive game will take place on Tuesday.
