Jofra Archer revealed that he has been abused racially on social media after breaking the Coronavirus protocols last week. The fast bowler was out of the second test match between England and West Indies. After the end of his isolation period, he is now available to join the English squad for the third test match. Meanwhile, he also raised questions on the people who bitched him vocally on various platforms.
“I’ll not allow anything to pass, so I have forwarded my complaints to the ECB and that will go through the correct process. Since Wilfried Zaha, the Crystal Palace footballer, abused by a 12-year-old online I drew a line and I will not allow anything to pass, so I have forwarded on my complaints to the ECB and that will go through the correct process.”
Archer has found himself in the center of wind over the last week after breaking bio-secure bubble protocol. He received an official warning from the Director of ECB and he found himself out of the second test match.
Jofra to return in third Test match
With the series finely-poised at 1-1, Anderson is confident both he and Archer can take the field on Friday but thinks he must first sit down with captain Joe Root and head coach Chris Silverwood to assess the situation.
“We’ve not seen much of him because he’s been in isolation for a few days. I’m sure he’ll want to play in this game because it’s such a crucial game, the series resting on it,” Anderson said.
“He’s said about his frame of mind and that’s something that over the next two days he’s going to have to sit down with the captain and coach and figure out if he’s in the right place to play.”
“I know what I did was an error of judgment and I have suffered the consequences of that. I accept I put the other guys at risk, I did not follow the advice and therefore apologized to my team-mates, to the West Indies team, and to everyone involved in the series. But I haven’t committed a crime and I want to start feeling myself again.”
