Kieron Pollard: After 13 memorable seasons with the five-time champion Mumbai Indians, West Indies star Kieron Pollard has declared his retirement from the Indian Premier League. Pollard made the choice because he didn’t see himself in MI’s future plans as the organisation was going through a transformation. The star player made the key declaration through an Instagram post.

Cannot see myself playing for any other team: Pollard

The all-rounder continued by saing that he can’t imagine himself playing for any other team in the IPL because of his loyalty to the franchise. Pollard will remain associated with MI by taking over as the team’s batting coach.

Kieron Pollard’s starry career with MI was really special as he was a part of the squad that went on to win the Champions Leauge twice and IPL trophy for the five times. In the Instagram post made by Pollard, he also gave a special thanks to the Ambani Family and signified on how they always treated him like a family.

Pollard holds this special record with MI

For a single franchise, only a small number of IPL players have appeared in 100 or more games. With 189 IPL appearances for Mumbai Indians, Pollard ranks second on the list of players who have played for a single team the most.

The top player on the list is Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Virat Kohli, who holds the record for most runs scored. Other notable players include Lasith Malinga, Sunil Narine, and Jasprit Bumrah (who had two stints at Mumbai). As one of the most productive all-rounders the league has ever seen, he amassed 3412 runs, 16 fifty-plus scores, and 69 wickets in those 189 games.
