In the current match versus Kolkata Knight Riders, David Willey halted their great start by first removing opener Venkatesh Iyer and then Mandeep Singh with two outstanding deliveries. Then, in the fourth over, Willey destroyed the start by capturing two wickets in two balls. He continued the over without giving up a run, giving his team the lead once more.

On the second ball of the over, David Willey clean-bowled Venkatesh Iyer after beginning with a dot delivery. Iyer’s decision to play a backfoot punch utterly backfired because he was unable to accurately gauge the length of the ball and the quick movement only made matters more difficult for him. The ball continued to roll towards the stumps, totally confusing him. And as soon as the subsequent delivery was made, Mandeep Singh also joined Iyer in the pavilion. The first delivery the Punjab star received to open his innings could not have been any more difficult. Willey delivered a stunning delivery to dismiss Mandeep after getting Iyer’s wicket to boost his confidence. A solid length delivery placed on the leg stump was bowled by the left-arm bowler.
