With the match drawing near, Kohli has his sights set on various milestones, aiming to surpass the achievements of cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar, Don Bradman, and Rahul Dravid.

After breaking his international century drought during the 2022 Asia Cup, Kohli continued his impressive form by scoring centuries in both ODIs and Tests. Kohli has set his sights on a major record in Test cricket, aiming to reach a significant century milestone. If he successfully scores a century at The Oval, it will be his 29th in the format, matching the legendary Don Bradman's remarkable tally. However, Kohli will still be one century behind Australia's Steve Smith, who currently holds the highest number of Test centuries among active cricketers with 30. England's Joe Root is also in close pursuit with 29 centuries to his name.

In addition, Kohli has an opportunity to surpass Rahul Dravid's record against Australia. Kohli has showcased an impressive performance against the Australian team, accumulating 1,979 runs in 24 matches with an average of 48.26. By scoring an additional 188 runs, he can surpass Dravid's tally of 2,166 runs against Australia and cement his position as the third-highest Indian run-scorer against the team, trailing only Tendulkar (3,630) and VVS Laxman (2,434).

Virat Kohli to surpass Sehwag's all-time tally

Moreover, Kohli has the chance to surpass Virender Sehwag's career Test record of 8,586 runs. With his current tally of 8,416 runs in 108 matches, Kohli requires only 170 runs to reach this significant milestone. Accomplishing this feat would elevate the 33-year-old to the esteemed company of Tendulkar, Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, and Laxman as the fifth-highest run-scorer for India in Test cricket.
