Kylian Mbappe: With his extra-time goal against Nantes in Ligue One on Sunday, French superstar Kylian Mbappe surpassed Edison Cavani to take the top spot among all time goal scorers for Paris Saint-Germain with 201. Mbappe received the ball inside the Nantes box in the 90+2nd minute and used his strength to hold off the defender on his shoulder before turning and putting the ball past goalkeeper Alban Lafort to secure his place in PSG’s annals.

Messi and own goal give PSG an early lead

Lionel Messi and Jaouen Hadjam’s own goal gave PSG a 2-0 lead after 17 minutes in the Champions League round of 16. However, the Canaries tied the score before halftime thanks to Ludovic Blas and Ignatius Ganago. PSG will travel to Bayern Munich next week hoping to overcome a 1-0 first-leg deficit. However, Christophe Galtier’s team secured all three points thanks to goals from Mbappe and Danilo with seconds remaining, giving them 63 points after 26 games. Messi’s left-footed volley from Fabian Ruiz’s cross gave PSG the lead in the 12th minute, giving them the perfect start.

Danilo and Mbappe score late to give PSG the win

Five minutes later, Alban Lafont deflected Nuno Mendes’ shot into the path of Hadjam, who threw the ball into his own net while being pressed by Nordi Mukiele to give PSG a 2-0 lead. However, Blas cut the deficit in half with a beautiful shot past Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 31st minute. Seven minutes later, Ganago equalised the score by deflecting a corner past the Italian goalkeeper.

However, order was restored 15 minutes into the second half when Danilo headed in a cross from Mbappe before the France forward scored his record goal with a left-footed shot from inside the box. However, the night was not as pleasant for PSG as Mukiele was taken off with a heel issue, and in the 75th minute, centre back Marquinhos returned to the locker room with what appeared to be a lower back issue.
