LaLiga: Racial abuses hurled at Mallorca star Vinicius Junior, viral video breaks the internet, watch here

LaLiga: Fans at Mallorca's Son Moix stadium were caught on video racially abusing Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior during Mallorca's 1-0 win against the last LaLiga Champions. The video shows fans calling the 22-year-old Brazilian player a monkey and is being rapidly shared online.

Vini Jr has been subject to trolls earlier as well

Mallorca has not commented, but the club manager, Javier Aguirre, denied that the players targeted Vinicius in the match. This is not the first time Vinicius has been subjected to racial abuse, having experienced it at least three times before, including at Camp Nou against Barcelona and at Atletico. Spanish police are investigating a possible hate crime after a mannequin wearing Vinicius' No. 20 shirt was hung from a bridge near the club's training centre.

A mannequin wearing Vinicius' shirt was hung next to a banner reading "Madrid hates Real" in Atletico Madrid's colors on January 26th. Prosecutors declined to press charges over racist chanting aimed at Vinicius in September, claiming it was brief and not a crime.

In December, Vinicius criticized LaLiga for not doing enough about racist fans after videos showed him being abused and having objects thrown at him during a match. Pele, Neymar, and other Brazilian figures spoke out in support of Vinicius after a Spanish soccer show panelist made a xenophobic and racist comment.

Vinicius issued a video statement in response, saying he wouldn't stop dancing and the success of a black Brazilian in Europe bothers many people. Real Madrid's coach and teammates are urging LaLiga and authorities to take action to protect Vinicius, who has scored 79 fouls this season, the most among top 7 European leagues. Neymar is second with 59 fouls.
