Netherlands' head coach Louis Van Gaal came out with a shocking revelation that the World Cup was rigged for Lionel Messi to win.

Lionel Messi: A shocking statement from the Netherlands's head coach Louis Van Gaal has come out regarding the FIFA World Cup 2022. The 2022 World Cup saw Lionel Messi completing his lifelong dream at last.

He lifted the World Cup amongst loud cheers and has stated that he has won everything in Football since then. But the Netherlands manager has come out and stated that the tournament wanted Messi to win.

Argentina defeated the Netherlands in the quarter-final of the tournament in one of the most intense matches. The intense match culminated in penalties where Albiceleste defeated the Oranje.

It Was A Premeditated Game

The Netherlands coach came out and stated that the Argentine team had assistance from outside. He even stated that the game was premeditated and the management wanted him to him.

“I don't really want to say much about it. When you see how Argentina gets the goals and how we get the goals, and how some Argentina players overstepped the mark and were not punished, then I think it was a premeditated game.”

There were 16 yellow cards and one red car in the quarterfinal match that involved various fights between the players. It was not a decent game and might be one of the roughest games in World Cup history.

Lionel Messi Deserved The World Cup

The statement is even more shocking as Louis Van Gaal has coached Barcelona in his career. Of course, Lionel Messi was not there at the time, but he still remains the best player the Catalonia club has ever seen.

But considering the complete and bigger picture, he was asked to clarify his comments. Van Gaal stated “I mean everything I say. That Messi become the world champion? I think so, yes.”
