LSG vs GT IPL 2023

LSG vs GT IPL 2023: Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans are currently battling at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. Gujarat Titans opted to bat first after winning the toss but the decision did not go in their favour as they failed to register a big score. However, KL Rahul's start in the chase became more of a controversial move. However, he also went on to become the fastest Indian to score 7,000 T20 runs.

KL Rahul's slow start in the game

Riding on skipper Hardik Pandya's valiant knock of 66 runs, the GT batters managed to post a low-total of 135 runs. Mohammed Shami came to bowl the first over of the LSG' innings and fans were expecting a stylish start since the target wasn't mammoth. However, much to everyone's surprise, KL Rahul failed to score a single run as he played just dot balls, making it the first over maiden.

This was a back-to-back first over maiden for KL Rahul as in the last match vs Rajasthan Royals also he did not score a single run in the first over which was bowled by Trent Boult. However, in the third over, when Shami came to bowl once again, he took his revenge and hammed three consecutive boundaries on the last three balls. With those boundaries, he also completed 7000 T20 runs in 197 innings, fastest for any Indian batter. Virat Kohli completed the milestone in 212 innings. Shikhar Dhawan is on third spot with 246 innings.
