LSG vs GT IPL 2023: In the 30th match of IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans has defeated Lucknow Super Giants by a margin of 7 runs at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. Hardik Pandya led GT won the toss and chose to bat first in the match. The batters, however, failed to score big as the team posted 135/6 in 20 overs. In response, LSG were 106/2 in 15 overs but they choked big time and failed to chase down the target. Gujarat Titans have now reached the top of the points table.

LSG shows batting masterclass

Coming to chase a low total of 136 runs, LSG had an ideal start as they scored 53 runs in the powerplay without losing any wickets. KL Rahul started with a maiden over yet again but scored 68 off 61 balls, hitting eight boundaries. He also became the fastest Indian to score 7,000 runs in T20 (197 innings) when he slammed three boundaries to Mohammed Shami in just the third over. Kyle Mayers scored 24 runs in 19 balls while Krunal Pandya scored 23 runs in as many balls.

However, they failed to score any boundary after a certain point. Nicholas scored 1, Ayush scored 8, Marcus Scored 0, and Deepak Hooda scored 2 runs. The last over by Mohit Sharma brought in 4 wickets and just 5 runs while they required 12 runs to win with set batter KL Rahul on the crease. Noor Ahmed & Mohit grabbed a couple of wickets each while Rashid picked a wicket as well.

Poor batting by Gujarat Titans(GT)

Earlier, Gujarat Titans opted to bat first after winning the toss. However, their decision did not go much in their favour as they failed to register a big score. Star opener Shubman Gill was dismissed on a two-ball duck by Krunal Pandya. Wriddhiman Saha played a crucial knock of 47 runs in 37 balls, providing a stabilised start.

Skipper Hardik Pandya slammed his first half-century of the season and played a valuable knock of 66 runs in 50 balls, hitting two boundaries and four maximums. The middle order could not sustain and lost wickets rapidly. Abhinav Manohar scored 3, Vijay Shankar scored 10, while Miller scored 6 runs. With the help of these knocks, they posted 135/6 on board in 20 overs. Krunal Pandya and Stoinis picked a couple of wickets each while Naveen-Ul-Haq and Amit Mishra grabbed a wicket each as well.
