In the final match of the Women's T20 Challenge played in Sharjah, the Trailblazers, captained by Smriti Mandhana, won the Women's T20 Challenge title for the first time by defeating the Supernovas led by Harmanpreet Kaur by 16 runs.
Earlier, Supernovas had won the 2018 and 2019 Women's T20 Challenge titles, but the Trailblazers prevented them from imposing a hat-trick of titles. Batting first due to Smriti Mandhana's half-century in this match, the Trailblazers set a target of 119 runs in 20 overs in front of Supernovas.
Smriti Mandhana scored 68 runs in 49 balls, which included 5 fours and 3 sixes. In response, the Supernovas was able to score 102 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored the highest 30 runs for Supernovas.
Apart from Harmanpreet Kaur, no other batter was able to settle at the crease. Sasikala Sirivardane scored 19, wicketkeeper Tania Bhatia scored 14 and Jemima Rodriguez scored 13 runs. For the Trailblazers, Bangladesh off-spinner Salma Khatoon took the most three wickets for 18 runs.
