Indian women's cricket team's star batsman Mithali Raj has made history in the third ODI against South Africa. In fact, Mithali has now become the second woman in the world and the first woman cricketer in India to complete 10,000 runs in international cricket. Earlier, England's Charlett Edwards has achieved this feat in the international cricket.
Mithali scored 36 runs in 50 balls but Indian team loss the game by 6 runs with DLS method.
38-year-old Mithali has scored 6,974 runs in ODI cricket at an average of 50.53. Apart from this, Mithali has scored 2,364 runs in T20 and 663 runs in Tests. Mithali has also scored 75 half-centuries and eight centuries in her career of more than two decade.
Mithali is the highest run-scorer for India in ODIs and T20s while in Tests she is fourth after Sandhya Aggarwal (1,110 runs), Shanta Rangaswamy (750 runs) and Shubhangi Kulkarni (700 runs).
Former England captain Charlotte Edwards is the only female cricketer to have scored more than 10,000 runs in international cricket before Mithali. At the age of 41, Edwards retired from international cricket in May 2016. She scored 5,992 runs in 191 ODIs and 2,605 runs in 95 T20 matches and 676 runs in 23 Tests.
Mithali Raj has shown het desire to play another World Cup and under her captaincy India earlier had reached in the finals of the World Cup back in 2017 where England came out as the winner in a dramatic final.
