MLC 2023: Seattle Orcas maintained their perfect start to the inaugural season of the Major Cricket League as they defeated San Francisco comfortably. Heinrick Klassen was the main protagonist of the show.
This win means that Seattle Orcas went top of the table with 2 wins in 2 matches. Whereas San Francisco Unicorns suffered their first loss in their second match and dropped down to the third.
San Francisco Unicorns’ main strength is batting but this time that factor resulted in their downfall. As Seattle bowlers never let them breathe and bowled them out even before 20 overs.
Classic Klassen
While batting first, Seattle Orcas made 177/4 in 20 overs. Heinrich Klassen once again showed why he is considered one of the best T20 batsmen in the world. With a well-made 53 in 31 deliveries, he led his side.
Nauman Anwar, Shehan Jayasuriya, and Shimron Hetmyer also contributed to the score with well-made scores. Quinton De Cock‘s bad form continued as he was clean bowled by Haris Rauf at a personal score of 7.
Intense Season Of MLC 2023 Ahead
The score of 178 was not that hard considering San Francisco just made 215 in their last match. And with their batting lineup, the target was chasable. But Cameron Gannon had other ideas.
His 4 wickets along with Imad Wasim and Andrew Tye who took 2 each, shut down San Francisco completely. Shadab Khan tried to fight the deadly bowling and scored 37 runs but it was not enough.
Unicorns were bowled out on 142 runs in just 17.5 overs. A bowling masterpiece that has made Orcas one of the toughest teams in the tournament. Orcas and Super Kings are the two toughest teams in the tournament so far by the looks of it.
