Mohammad Yousuf: Former Pakistan Cricket Captain Mohammad Yousuf has criticized decision of the International Cricket Council (ICC) to exclude Bangladesh from the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 to be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7, 2026.

Yousuf remarked that the die-hard cricket fans of Bangladesh have been deprived of cricket because of illogical reasons. The former Captain remarked that rules should stay the same from each country and the world governing body of cricket should act not serve the interests of a single board.

True Face Of Mohammad Yousuf Exposed

During the ICC World Cup 2019, Mohammad Yousuf had wished lightning should strike the Bangladeshi players so they all fall on the ground. This statement was made after Pakistan had to defeat Bangladesh under Mashrafe Mortaza to finish in top 4 of the World Cup after they struggled with a poor net run rate throughout the tournament.

Why Was The Bangladesh Team Replaced?

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) requested for a venue change from India to Sri Lanka for its Group C fixtures, citing security concerns. However, the ICC refused to entertain its request saying there was no basis or evidence for such frivolous claims.

Pakistan offered to host the matches of Bangladesh that was later rejected by the ICC. Initially, Pakistan extended its solidarity with the BCB but later decided to keep silent. It is now again threatening to either boycott the Group A match with India or the entire tournament. The Pakistan Cricket Board said a decision would be made once Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif returns from his foreign visit.

In another development, former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi also blasted the ICC for the exclusion of Bangladesh. Afridi said the ICC accepted the security concerns of India during the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan but is not willing to apply the same level of understanding to Bangladesh.
