Mohammed Siraj Crowned As World Number 1 ODI bowler

India’s pace spearhead Mohammed Siraj is the new World Number 1 in the One Day Internationals according to the latest list of ICC Men’s Rankings. Siraj’s brilliant form helped him to reach the feat in ODIs. New Zealand’s Trent Boult sits at second spot who was earlier on top while Australia’s Josh Hazlewood is at the third spot.

Siraj’s rise

Siraj’s rise was the highlight of Team India’s play in 2022 during ODIs. He collected 37 wickets from 20 matches since the time he made his comeback into the Indian side in February 2021. He was out of the ODI setup in presence of senior performers for over three-years.

Perfect start to 2023

Siraj had a perfect start to 2023 as well with 9 wickets in three games vs Sri Lanka which was a record for a three-game series. He also impressed during the ODI series vs New Zealand by adding 5 wickets to his name in two ODIs.

The 28-year-old could be India’s best pace option before going into the World Cup later this year which is scheduled to be held in India.
