Neeraj Chopra: Olympic champion announced as ‘Friendship Ambassador’ by Switzerland | Watch video

Neeraj Chopra: Olympic gold medalist, Neeraj, has joined hands with Switzerland Tourism as its friendship ambassador to promote the country’s top tourist destinations to the rapidly growing Indian travel market.

Chopra will speak on his travels throughout the nation and the many tourist attractions it has to offer, including adventure sports, biking, hiking, and snow sports.

Neeraj Chopra frequently travels to Switzerland

One of the most well-known youth icon from India, Neeraj Chopra, frequently travels to Switzerland for training and competitions. He enjoys extending his stay after the season is over in order to both get the much-needed rest and to enjoy the beauty of Switzerland. Interlaken, Zermatt, and Geneva are three of the most popular places Chopra has been.

Neeraj’s last trip happened just two month ago

In September of this year, Neeraj attended the Diamond League Championships in Zurich. After winning it, he and his friends left on a trip that was ideal for his love of adventures. The group covered everything, including canyon jumping, skydiving, and jet boat racing in Interlaken, as well as snow scooter and sled exploration on Jungfraujoch, Monster biking, hiking, paragliding, and a helicopter tour in Zermatt.

Director of India, Switzerland Tourism Misha Gambetta commented on the partnership with Neeraj Chopra by saying “India is a very important long-haul market for us! And it’s great to have a friendship ambassador from India representing Switzerland. Neeraj is an icon and a very outdoorsy person, and he will be the perfect person to showcase the sporty side of Switzerland. We look forward to working towards a successful campaign with him”.

Donated his gold-winning javelin

In September of this year, Neeraj Chopra gave his gold-winning javelin to The Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. The International Olympic Committee established a museum in 1993 that uses sports as the main part to illustrate the depth and diversity of Olympism through history, culture, design, technology, and sociology. The Hockey of Dhyan Chand and the gloves worn by Mary Kom are also on display in the Museum.
