Neeraj Chopra: After a sluggish start, Neeraj Chopra made an epic comeback to clinch his second Lausanne Diamond League title. Neeraj Chopra was coming back after a one-month injury layoff, and his first throw was a foul.

The Indian javelin superstar went to his Twitter to announce that he had suffered a muscle strain. He also announced that he would be taking a one-month break and will miss tournaments like BK Games in the Netherlands and the Paavo Nurmi meet in Finland.

He also missed the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships held earlier. The fans were sad as Neeraj was one of the strongest contenders in every competition he missed. But now that he has made his return, he is not planning to look back.

Neeraj Chopra Brilliant Comeback

It was not an easy comeback, as Neeraj's first throw was a foul. This early mishap made everyone believe that the star archer was struggling a little bit to find a rhythm. But he got better with every throw and got his rhythm completely back in the last winning throw.

The Olympic gold medalist's second throw went to 83.52m, while his third throw covered 85.04m. His fourth throw was a foul, but he completed his comeback on the last throw with a distance of 87.66m. He was just 1m shy of his Olympic Games record this time.

Future Plans

As mentioned earlier, Neeraj Chopra is not thinking of looking back. After clinching his Second Lausanne Diamond League Title, he will also take part in the Monaco and Zurich legs of the competition. Finally, he will complete the cycle with the Diamond League grand finale in Eugene, USA. The final will take place on September 16 and 17.
