India beat New Zealand in three-match T20I series 1-0 after the third and final game was ended in a no result following rain gods sparing Team India.

New Zealand batted first and failed to score runs in the first 10 overs but later Glenn Philips and Devon Conway scored fifties.

Glenn Phillips played a crucial knock of 54 in 33 deliveries which included 3 sixes and 5 fours. In one of the shots that he smashed against for a six against Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the ball went out of the ground and hit the light tower.

Flop show by Indian batters

Chasing the target of 161, India had a horrific start as they lost four wickets in quick succession. Once again the new opening pair of Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan failed to deliver as they added only 13 runs for the first wicket. But later it looked like rain saved Team India.

Time Southee was the pick of the bowlers for BlackCaps as he picked two wickets and gave just 27 runs in four overs.

India take the T20I series 1-0 with Suryakumar’s blessing in the second game while the first and third saw no result.
