Novak Djokovic wins Australian Open for 9th time

Novak Djokovic has proven his worth yet again, the 33-year-old Serbian athelete won the 2021 Australian Open after defeating Russia's Daniil Medvedev at Rod Laver Arena.

Djokovic is also the world number one in Tennis and he won the the mega finals in less than two hours by 7-5, 6-2, 6-2.

This also the ninth Australian Open title win and 18th Grand Slam title win for the Serbian giant. Only Rafael Nadal and Roger Fedrer is behind Djokovic in the most win Grand Slam tally.

"Everyone has their own journey and their own way of making history, and they've made history already," Djokovic said after the match. "I'm trying to build that and develop that myself in a very unique authentic way that is suitable to me."

He added, "Whether I think about winning more slams and breaking records, of course, I do. Most of my attention and energy from this day forward, until I retire from tennis, is going to be directed in majors and trying to win more major trophies."
