Olympics 2023: India’s Strong Desire to Host 2036 Olympics and 2029 Youth Olympics Expresses PM Modi

Olympics 2023: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that India is committed to making every effort to organize the 2036 Olympics, showcasing the nation’s strong desire to host the world’s largest sporting event. He inaugurated the 141st Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), where India will present its plan for hosting the quadrennial extravaganza. This session marks the return of the IOC meeting to India after a 40-year hiatus since the last one held in 1983 in New Delhi.

PM Modi also expressed India’s ambition to host the 2029 Youth Olympics during his address to the IOC Session delegation and other attendees at the Jio World Convention Centre. He emphasized that hosting the Olympics is a dream of 1.4 billion Indians, and India is determined to achieve it with the support of the IOC.

“The spirit of sports is universal,” PM Modi stated, underscoring the importance of sports in Indian culture and society. He emphasized that sports empower humanity, and in sports, there are no losers, only winners and learners.

He highlighted the importance of including e-sports in the Olympics program

IOC President Thomas Bach, in his address, recognized India’s growth, both economically and in sports, and applauded the nation’s performance at the Asian Games. He highlighted the importance of including e-sports in the Olympics program and stressed the need to trust the mindset of young people and empower them.

He mentioned the formation of an AI working group and hinted at more details on AI’s impact on the Olympics to be revealed during the 141st IOC Session over the next two days.

In conclusion, India’s enthusiastic desire to host the Olympics and Youth Olympics, along with its commitment to sports, was emphasized by both PM Modi and IOC President Thomas Bach during this important IOC Session.
