PAK vs NZ: Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Ahmed’s amusing debate over caught behind decision goes viral, watch this hilarious video

PAK vs NZ

PAK vs NZ: Sarfaraz Ahmed’s return to Test cricket has been somewhat sensational. For the first Test against New Zealand, he took over for an underperforming Mohammed Rizwan, scoring 86 and 53. He contributed 78 runs to Pakistan’s first innings in the second Test.

Hilarious argument over a DRS call

Sarfaraz has also consistently been present behind the stumps. Former captain and current skipper Babar Azam appear to get along well. Azam made his T20I debut under the former captain in 2016. The biggest instance of that was their 196-run partnership in the first Test, which not only prevented Pakistan from being bowled out for a meagre total but also gave them the upper hand. However, another instance occurred when they got into a brief but hilarious argument over a DRS call.

Ball was caught by Sarfaraz

Day 2 of the ongoing second Test is when the incident occurred. Tim Southee, the captain of New Zealand, was bowled by fast bowler Mir Hamza. The ball was caught by Sarfaraz behind the stumps after the latter gave it a waft. A half-appeal for a catch was made after Sarfaraz dove forward. After saying that there was a noise despite the ball missing him by a hair, Sarfaraz then appeared to be mocking the situation. “Yeh Aee thi awaz (There was a sound),”In the video of the game, he is heard saying while waving the ball and looking toward Babar. Babar gives him a big smile and then says,“Lakin aage gir gya hai (But it has fallen short)”.Sarfaraz smiles and throws the ball away while still waving his left hand.
