Paris Olympic 2024: Indian athletes Priyanka Goswami and Akshdeep Singh have clinched a Paris Olympic quota for India in the marathon race walk mixed relay event. Their remarkable performance saw them finish 18th at the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships held in Antalya, Turkiye on Sunday.

Clocking a time of 3:05:03, the duo secured the coveted quota, showcasing their exceptional endurance and skill on the global stage.
Another Indian team, comprising Munita Prajapati and Paramjeet Singh, also competed in the quota race, finishing 35th with a timing of 3:09:58.
The marathon mixed relay event is set to make its Olympic debut at Paris 2024 and involves teams composed of one male and one female athlete covering the full marathon distance of 42.195km in a relay format.

The Antalya meet served as a Paris 2024 qualifier for the event, with 22 quotas on offer, and up to five teams from the same country could secure a quota. Three more Paris quotas for the event will be distributed through top list rankings later.
Additionally, Indian race walkers participated in the men's and women's 20km race walk events at the Antalya meet, showcasing their talent and determination.
In the women's 20km race walk event, Pooja Kumawat led the Indian contingent, finishing 42nd, followed closely by Manju Rani and Mokavi Muthurathinam. Ramandeep Kaur and Payal also put up commendable performances.
On the men's side, Servin Sebastian secured the best finish for India in the men's 20km event, with Vikash Singh, Suraj Panwar, and Arshpreet Singh also making significant contributions.
The achievements of these athletes highlight India's growing prowess in race walking and augur well for their prospects at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
