PBKS vs KKR IPL 2023: On Saturday, Nitish Rana, captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), won the toss and chose to bowl against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 2 of the IPL 2023 in Mohali. Shikhar Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh opened the proceedings, with Umesh Yadav leading the KKR attack.

Jitesh Sharma has replaced the captain in the middle

Tim Southee packed Prabhsimran for 23 off 12 balls in his first over, but Punjab were off to an exciting start. Bhanuka Rajapaksa then kept things going with captain Dhawan, adding 86 runs for the second wicket before being bowled by Umesh for 50. (32). Jitesh Sharma has replaced the captain in the middle.

Strength of both teams

KKR have a strong batting line-up with Gurbaz, Mandeep Singh, Rana, Rinku Singh and Russell in their top five. Punjab will rely on their spinners - Raza, Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar - to defend their total on a slow pitch.
