PBKS vs MI IPL 2023: The ongoing IPL 2023 clash between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings in Mohali, Punjab witnessed a remarkable first innings from Punjab Kings. After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma elected to field, but his bowlers failed to make an impact as Punjab Kings amassed a colossal total of 214 runs. However, the visitors were off to a bad start as skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a duck, which also put him into an embarrassing list.
Rohit Sharma dismissed for duck
During the challenging chase, it was Rishi Dhawan of Punjab Kings who opened the bowling attack and made an outstanding start. In the third delivery of the first over, Dhawan delivered an exceptional ball that dismissed Rohit Sharma for a duck, leaving the Mumbai Indians captain out of the game.
The dismissal also marked his 15th duck in the history of the IPL. This puts him in joint first place with Sunil Narine, Mandeep Singh, and Dinesh Karthik on the list of most ducks in the tournament. Previously, Sharma was tied with Ambati Rayudu at 14 ducks. The recent dismissal further adds to Sharma’s string of low scores in the tournament. So far this season, he has managed to accumulate just 184 runs in nine matches, averaging 20.44.
