New Update
ODI World Cup 2023

ODI World Cup 2023: The eagerly anticipated clash of the 2023 ODI World Cup between fierce rivals India and Pakistan has undergone a schedule change. The match, which was initially set for October 15, will now take place on October 14. In the latest update, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also accepted the change of dates proposed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for its two fixtures.

More changes in ODI World Cup 2023 schedule

The match between Pakistan and its neighbours in Asia, Sri Lanka, has also been moved up in the schedule. The Lankan Lions were supposed to play the Babar Azam-led squad on October 12, however, due to a change in the scheduling, the match will now take place on October 10. The match will take place at Hyderabad's Rajeev Gandhi International Stadium. Due to the scheduling rearrangement, the 1992 World Cup champions will have enough time to adequately prepare for their highly anticipated matchup with the Rohit Sharma-led team.

The modification in the timetable was caused by problems with not enough protection being deployed on October 15 since the nine-day Hindu holiday of Navratri began on that day. Both the BCCI and the ICC asked Pakistan's cricketing authority to discuss delaying its group matches after giving it significant thought.

New schedule to be released soon

A new schedule for the ODI World Cup 2023 is anticipated from the ICC since a few additional games may also need to be moved around. According to prior reports, the PCB has asked the ICC and the BCCI to change the venues of a few World Cup 2023 matches. However, the request has been denied by both organisations.

The precise games in question were those that Pakistan was slated to play in Bengaluru and Chennai against Australia and Afghanistan, respectively. It is said that the objections voiced by the former head of the PCB, Najam Sethi, regarding playing India in Ahmedabad, were ignored since both BCCI and ICC did not deem them as valid.
