PSG Is everything not right with Lionel Messi Star footballer to not play against Lorient Know Details here

PSG: Due to an inflamed Achilles tendon, Lionel Messi will not travel with Paris St. Germain to Lorient in Ligue 1 on Sunday, the French league leaders said on Saturday in an official statement.

Messi played the entire 90 minutes of PSG’s final Champions League group match away at Juventus on Wednesday. Messi has 12 goals and 14 assists for PSG in all competitions this season.

“Leo Messi will remain in treatment for an inflamed Achilles tendon as a precautionary measure. He will resume collective training next week,” PSG said in a statement.

World Cup on the cards

Although Argentina fans will undoubtedly be nervous given how close the World Cup starts this month, the French champs anticipate the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner to be able to return to team practise the following week. Any setback at this point could become more of an issue.

After finally winning his first senior international championship at the 2021 Copa America, Messi’s great career is still lacking one thing: a World Cup victory.

Argentina is one of the favourites to win the World Cup, which would be their first championship since 1986. This is due to their 35-game unbeaten streak, which is just two games short of Italy’s all-time record for consecutive international victories.

Keylor Navas, Presnel Kimpembe, and Fabian Ruiz are among PSG players out with injury but are anticipated to resume training next week. With 35 points from 13 games, PSG is five points ahead of Lens in second place in Ligue 1.

Lionel Messi controversy with BYJU

Messi was earlier in news this week when India’s ed-tech company ‘BYJU’ had announced him as their brand ambassador for a campaign. However, the company’s decision was touted to be very much controversial and received criticism as they had laid off over 2,500 employees (5% of their staff) just a while ago.
