PSL 2023: Commentator Simon Doull’s on-air praise for Hasan Ali’s wife breaks the internet, watch here

PSL 2023: Simon Doull, former New Zealand cricketer-turned-commentator, is currently in Pakistan for commentary in PSL 2023 and has been making headlines on social media. He recently received backlash for criticizing Pakistan and Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam for playing a selfish knock that led to his team’s defeat against the Quetta Gladiators. Another video of him has now gone viral on social media, where he can be heard commenting on Pakistani pacer Hasan Ali’s wife, who was seen cheering for Islamabad United during a PSL match.

Simon Doull praises Hasan Ali’s wife

Doull is currently in Pakistan for commentary duties during the PSL. The video in question shows Doull praising the beauty of Hasan Ali’s wife, Samiyaa Arzoo, on air during Match No. 24 of the PSL between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans. The video has been rapidly spreading across social media platforms.

After Islamabad won a close game by two wickets, the camera focused on Arzoo, and Doull praised her beauty, saying “She has won it. She has won a few hearts as well, I believe. That is superb, absolutely stunning. And the victory.”

Another commentator can also be heard laughing, however, Simon Doull’s remark did not go down well with social media users who expressed their disapproval on Twitter. Islamabad, who won a closely contested match against Multan, faced the Lahore Qalandars in their ninth league match of the tournament on Thursday (March 9). However, they faced an embarrassing loss by a whopping 119 runs, which shattered their hopes of finishing at the top of the points table. They could only muster 107 runs in response to the Shaheen Afridi-led side’s impressive total of 226.
