PSL 2026: For years, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been a subejct matter of jokes, memes and mockery. The year 2026 is no different and former Pakistani cricketers, world cricketers and Pakistani public are blasting the PSL management for the white ball getting pink.
PSL 2026-Kit Dye On Ball
The incident occurred in the first match of PSL 2026 that was played between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen. During the match, the jersey colour of Hyderabad Kingsmen blew onto the white ball, making it look pink. Captain Marnus Labuschagne was astonished to see the discolouration of the cricket ball and said he had a word with the on-field umpires.

Former Pakistani wicketkeeper batsman remarked that he genuinely thought that the Hyderabad Kingsmen team got their kits dyed at a dupatta lane in Pakistan, the kind where they recolour white colours for bargain rates. Former Pakistani batsman Basit Ali echoed the comments.
This resulted in an unusual ball change after 15 over of the chase against defending champions Lahore Qalandars. The umpires accepted the argument that the ball has become difficult for the batsmen to pick. The maroon kit colour of Kingsmen rubbed off on the white kookaburra cricket ball. The maroon tinge on the kookaburra ball was visible even to the naked eye from the media box right at the end of the powerplay.
After the game, Labuschange remarked that he was shocked and has never seen anything like this in his cricket career.
Haris Rauf, the Qalandars speedster, claimed that the ball may have changed its colour from the seats in the cricket stands. However, he forgot that the seats in the Gaddafi Stadium are white and green in colour.
On their PSL debut, Hyderabad Kingsmen lost by 69 runs.
