Its been almost a decade since the team India's victory in the World Cup 2011. MS Dhoni and company achieved the milestone after 28 years in 2011. Former Indian all-rounder Suresh Raina who played big role in the India's emphatic win revealed that he played the semi-finals without eating a bite of food in the entire day.
The semi-finals of the 2011 World Cup was played between India and Pakistan where India defeated Pakistan by 29 runs. Suresh Raina scored half-century in the chase of 260 runs.
"Indian team had started preparing for the 2011 World Cup two years earlier. Everyone in this team waded from the first number to the eighth number. There were many outstanding bats in our team, such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Virat Kohli. Then the mentor was Sachin Paji."
Raina said, "There was too much security in this match. The Prime Minister of both countries also came to watch the match. Food could not come for safety reasons. Then Sachin Paaji said who would eat food here, eat two bananas or something, and turn to Pakistan, so let’s eat Pakistan."
