Ranji Trophy 2022-23: Shahbaz Nadeem breaks into record books ! Knocks national selector’s doors again; Reaches 500 FC wickets

Ranji Trophy 2022-23: In the Ranji Trophy encounter between Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, Shahbaz Nadeem of Jharkhand achieved the milestone of 500 First-Class wickets. Nadeem had 499 wickets at the beginning of the fifth-round Ranji Trophy match when Amandeep Khare’s wicket brought him to 500. The 33-year-old played for both Jharkhand and Bihar before making his international debut in 2004 against Kerala.

Shahbaz Nadeem’ huge record in Ranji Trophy

He has an average of 28.70 after 128 First-Class games. He has amassed seven 10-wicket hauls and 25 five-wicket hauls, including a career-high 7/45 in one inning. In terms of most wickets in Ranji Trophy history, Nadeem is now at number 12.With eight wickets taken in two games, Nadeem earned his Test debut for India against South Africa in 2019.

Utpal Chatterjee, a member of the Bengal cricket team, has 503 wickets to his name in 129 games. Nadeem is a native of the Chandwara neighbourhood in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district. Nadeem performs at the moment from Jharkhand.

Nadeem Shah has high hopes to join ODI team

A native of Chandwara, Muzaffarpur, left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem set a record by capturing 500 first-class wickets, a feat that no bowler in the East Zone has yet accomplished. Nadeem was playing against Chhattisgarh in the Ranji Trophy in Jamshedpur’s Keenan Stadium, where he took two wickets to reach the 500-wicket mark. Shahbaz will undoubtedly join the ODI team at some point, according his father.

Nadeem is hoping that the selectors would take notice of him because he has been playing excellent domestic cricket lately. Performing well is what Nadeem claimed his work entailed, and he is wholly committed to doing so. From February 5–9, 2021, Nadeem faced England in his final international game, where he took two wickets.
