Rashid Khan becomes fastest to pick 400 wickets in T20s

Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan became the fastest to pick 400 wickets in T20s. The spinner has acheived the feat in his team’s final game of the T20 World Cup 2021 vs New Zealand.

The Afghan leg-spinner is the 4th bowler after Dwayne Bravo (553), Sunil Narine (425), and Imran Tahir (420) to achieve the milestone. He achieved the feat in his 289th T20 match where New Zealand’s opening batsman Martin Guptill became his 400th victim in the shortest format of the game.

Earlier his side was thrashed by 8 wickets to New Zealand who have qualified for the semifinals.

Bowling first, Kiwis restricted Afghanistan to 125/8 in 20 overs with superb bowling performances by Trent Boult and Tim Southee. Boult picked three wickets while Southee got two wickets. Najibullah Zadran was the top-score for Afghanistan as he got back to the pavilion with his 73-run knock.

The victory took the New Zealand to eight points that confirmed their spot top two of Group 2 table, along with Pakistan, as the two teams join England and Australia from Group 1 in the semi-finals.
