RCB vs LSG IPL 2023: On Monday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Nicholas Pooran broke records and hit the fastest fifty of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He achieved this feat by scoring 50 runs off just 15 balls, and he hit a six off Wayne Parnell in the 16th over to bring up his half-century. This broke the previous record held by Ajinkya Rahane, who had scored fifty off 19 balls against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. This was also the second-fastest ever in the history of the tournament.

The left-handed batsman was dismissed after scoring a rapid 62 runs off just 18 balls, which helped put the Lucknow team in a strong position while chasing a huge target of 213 runs. This impressive performance by the batsman put Lucknow in control of the game. His knock included four boundaries and seven maximums, as he played with a strike rate of 326.32.
He was bought by the team for INR 16 crore in the auction, which had stirred quite a limelight then. The record for fastest fifty in IPL is currently with the LSG’s skipper KL Rahul himself, who scored fifty in 14 balls against DC in 2018 while playing for Punjab Kings. Pat Cummins also scored the fifty in 14 balls last year against MI.
