Rishabh Pant: Major Update on Star cricketer’s health; To be shifted to Mumbai for further treatment

Rishabh Pant: According to Shyam Sundar, director of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), India batsman Rishabh Pant would be sent to Mumbai on Wednesday for additional medical care. After being involved in a car accident on December 30 while travelling to his birthplace of Roorkee on the Delhi-Dehradun route, Pant was receiving treatment at the Max Hospital in Dehradun.

Rishabh Pant to be taken to Mumbai

A senior BCCI official anonymously said "Rishabh is being shifted to Mumbai for diagnosis and treatment of his ligament injuries and decide upon the further course of action. He is expected to be under the supervision of BCCI-empanelled renowned sports orthopaedic Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala. If there is advice for surgery, a call will be taken if it will happen in the UK or USA."

Pant was brought to the Saksham Hospital last Friday am after his car flipped many times and caught fire. Following emergency medical care, he was recommended to the Max Hospital.

In addition to sustaining injuries to his wrist, ankle, forehead, and back, Pant also tore a ligament in his right knee. A bus driver and conductor from Haryana Roadways came to the help of the 25-year-old on the highway. According to Sharma, the BCCI is keeping track on Pant's medical care and is in "constant touch" with the hospital staff.

Rishabh Pant could miss the action for several months

There are several rumours that Pant could not play in the whole IPL 2023. He is the captain for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL. Ahead of the India - Sri Lanka T20I series, skipper Hardik Pandya said "Coming to the point, obviously he was a very important part of (Team India's plans in the world Cup year). But, now everyone knows the situation."
