Rishabh Pant: When his high-end vehicle caught fire early on Friday morning after colliding with a road divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, India's star cricketer Rishabh Pant narrowly avoided injury. But three years ago, the wicket-keeper batsman might not have been hurt if he had paid attention to his veteran teammate Shikhar Dhawan. Actually, Pant was on his way to Roorkee to surprise his mother when this incident occurred. Pant, 25, reportedly suffered head, back, and leg injuries in the collision, but his condition is stable, according to the police. The incident happened in the Uttarakhand district of Haridwar at around 5.30 a.m.

Following Pant's narrow escape from the horrific accident, the same old video of Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant, in which the veteran cricketer gave him driving advice, is now trending again on social media. The two players can be heard talking for 11 seconds in this IPL-era video. They both represent the IPL team Delhi Capitals. During their exchange in the video, Pant asks Dhawan, "One piece of advice you want to give me?" Dhawan responds right away, "Gadi aaram se chalaya kar." Following this, they both begin to laugh. Pant then responds, "Okay, I'll take your advice, and I'll drive the car comfortably from now on."

Ajay Singh, a senior superintendent with the Haridwar Police, claimed that Pant had fallen asleep when his Mercedes struck the divider and caught fire. He was rescued from the burning car by the driver and the other members of the Haryana Roadways crew as they passed by. He claimed that the collision rendered the car completely useless. Pant was treated by Dr. Sushil Nagar in the emergency room, and according to him, Pant has head and knee injuries that need to be looked into further.
