Rishabh Pant: Uttarakhand DGP refutes rumours of star cricketer’s possessions being stolen after accident

Rishabh Pant, a wicketkeeper and batter, was seriously injured in a car accident on Friday, startling Indian cricket fans who awoke to the news. As he travelled from Delhi to Uttarakhand, Rishabh Pant was involved in a serious car accident and sent to the hospital.

Rishabh Pant’s money and other items not stolen: Uttarakhand DGP

The 25-year-old cricketer, who was driving while unconscious, broke the windscreen to get out of the vehicle. Social media was filled with claims that the cricketer’s possessions had been robbed by locals after the accident. The cricketer’s mother received all of his possessions, which, according to Haridwar Police, had been gathered by those who had saved him and collected them.

When SP Dehat arrived on the scene shortly after the accident, he spoke with witnesses and learned that Rishabh Pant’s possessions had not been stolen. According to the police, all of his possessions—aside from a bag containing some clothes—were entirely burned.

Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar said “The information about people stealing Rishabh Pant’s belongings is false. Those who are spreading this misleading news, please do not do so. Share the video of SSP Haridwar Ajay Singh with such people.” DGP Ashok Kumar also shared a video of SSP Ajay Singh.

What did Rishabh Pant had in possession?

In his presence, Rishabh Pant gave his mother the items he was wearing, including a platinum chain, a gold bracelet, four thousand rupees in cash, and his luggage that was hidden within his clothes.

When Pant’s Mercedes slammed into the barrier at the Narsan border and caught fire, Pant was behind the wheel. The vehicle hit the divider and got into fire. Fortunately, Pant somehow made it outside the car otherwise the accident could have proven to be even more fatal for the young cricketer.
