RR vs GT IPL 2023: In the 48th match of IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans has defeated Rajasthan Royals at the latter's home by a margin of nine wickets. Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bat first but his side failed to bat at their home ground. After being from 47/1 in 5 overs, they managed to score just 118 in 17.5 overs. In response, GT managed to chase down the target with ease as they scored 119/1 in 13.5 overs. This is the seventh victory for the defending champions GT in nine matches.

GT chases target with ease

Coming to chase a relatively low total of 119 runs, GT had an ideal start. Unlike the home team, the visitors pulled off a clinical win as they chased down the target without any difficulty. They had a 71-run first-wicket partnership within the tenth over itself. Shubman Gill scored 36 off 35 balls, hitting six boundaries.

Hardik Pandya came and smacked 22 runs in just his next over. This gave a major boost to runrate which had already been to the visitor's side. Wriddhiman Saha scored 41* off 34 while skipper Hardik Pandya scored 39* off 15 balls, hitting three boudnaries and as many maximums. Only Yuzvendra Chahal picked a wicket in the match.

RR faces batting collapse

Earlier, Sanju Samson opt to bat first in the clash. However, the decision back-fired severely as none of the batters only one batter could score 15+ runs. Skipper Sanju Samson scored 30 runs off 20 balls, hitting three boundaries and a maximum. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 14 off 11 while Trent Boult scored 15 off 11 balls, a boundary and a maximum.

Padikkal scored 12 off 12 while no other batter could even reach the double-digit mark. At one moment, they had scored 47 runs after 5 overs while losing just one wicket. However, GT bowlers proved to be a little to tough for them. Rashid Khan picked up a three-wicket haul while giving just 14 runs in his spell. Noor Ahmed picked a couple of wickets while Hardik, Shami, and Joshua Little picked a wicket each.
