SA VS NZ ICC ODI World Cup 2023: The one question that every team is asking right now is how to defeat South Africa when they are batting first. They have an average score of 348 runs while batting first in this campaign.
It looks like every batsman gets in form when the Proteas are batting first. Quinton De Kock has scored 4 centuries, and Henrich Klassen and Aiden Markram are in sensational touch. And now it looks like Rassie van der Dussen has also come back in form.
He was the most dependable batsman for Proteas while coming into the World Cup 2023. But so far, he has had an underwhelming outing. But the match against Kiwis marks his comeback in a sensational style.
A Marvellous Century
Rassie van der Dussen came out to bat against the Kiwis after skipper Temba Bavuma once again failed to capitalize on a great start. He put up a sensational partnership with Quinton De Kock of 200 runs and set the tone for a big score.
Once De Kock departed, Dussen took it upon himself to finish the innings strong. After touching 100 runs on the 101 delivery, he started pacing up. He scored 33 runs in the next 16 deliveries and shattered the Kiwi’s bowling line-up.
Tim Southee, who was playing his first match in the World Cup took the wicket of Dussen at an individual score of 133 runs in 118 deliveries. He hit 9 boundaries and 5 sixes in this sensational inning.
