Shikhar Dhawan: Shikhar Dhawan is one of the best openers India has seen. He was the cornerstone of India during the World Cup 2015, World Cup 2019, and ICC Champions Trophy 2013. He played sensible and important knocks in every tournament.
Now, that he has been excluded from both Asian Games 2023 and Asia Cup 2023, it looks like he is setting his sights on the domestic season. Indian domestic season circuit has already started with Duleep Trophy where Pujara played.
Now, Dhawan will also take the same route and he is more motivated than ever to resume his cricket. The former Indian opener shared a picture on his Instagram account that showcased just how hard he has been working right now.
Taking Motivation From Youngsters
The left-handed batsman recently came out and spoke about how this game teaches everyone new things daily. No matter how much cricket someone has played, there is an opportunity to learn new things daily.
The batsman compared recent cricket to the time he used to play and stated that the game perspective is getting broader day by day. And how youngsters can express themselves with more freedom nowadays.
“Even like… we’ve been playing for such a long time, we get so inspired by all the young players when they come up with some new shots, and personally I ask ‘how you played that?’.” The former Indian opener stated.
Eyeing India Return?
Shikhar Dhawan was supposed to lead India in Asian Games 2023. But Ruturaj Gaikwad got that opportunity and BCCI sent a complete young squad. Dhawan might take it as a motivation. He might see it as a window to perform better in domestic and make his place back with the Blues.
