Singapore Open 2024: Every dream run comes to an end and it was time for Treesa-Gayatri's run to end. It has been wonderful to see these two battling it out against the top opponents.

After three back-to-back upset victories against top opponents, the team from India finally bowed down to the Japanese Nami Matsuyama–Chiharu Shida. But it was not a complete loss as these two have a bright future ahead of them.

They might not have gotten the medal or trophy to show their success. But what they got was even bigger than that. They showed everyone that they can stand with the biggest players on the court.

Singapore Open 2024: Dream Run Ends

It might have been a straight-set defeat but the match was anything but one-sided. Treesa and Gayatri were matching the Japanese duo with everything in the first set. The Japanese barely made it out safely by the end.

While everyone was thinking of the same kind of fight from the Indian duo, it was the complete opposite of that. The duo of Nami Matsuyama–Chiharu Shida completely ruined the Indian duo.

While Gayatri and Treesa tried to regroup, Nami and Chiharu had learned their lesson from the first set. They had also studied the Korean game and paced up the game. Against which the Indian duo had no answer. The final scoreline of the match was 21-23, 11-21, but it does not show you the whole story.

Good News For The Future

It was a learning experience for Treesa who realized that her hard strokes can come back stronger towards them. Gayatri needs to work on her fitness and increase her stamina for the later part of the game.

But what they don't need is the guts to stand against the best and challenge them. They have that already and in the future, they will be stars undoubtedly. Maybe even a medal in the Olympics shortly.
