Chris Gayle holds the record for the most sixes in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. Between 2003 and 2019, Gayle unleashed a staggering 49 sixes across 34 innings. Known for his penchant for boundary-hitting, he often opts for maximums over singles. Gayle’s reputation as the finest T20 batsman is well-established, but his prowess in One Day Internationals (ODIs) is also highly regarded.

2. AB De Villiers

AB de Villiers, a beloved figure among South African cricket fans, earned his reputation for inventive shot-making and currently ranks second in the list of most sixes in the ICC Cricket World Cup. De Villiers accomplished this feat by smashing 37 sixes across 22 innings from 2007 to 2015.

3. Ricky Ponting

In the third position stands the legendary Australian batsman and former captain, Ricky Ponting. Over the span of 42 innings from 1996 to 2011, Ponting displayed his prowess by striking 31 sixes in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

4. Brendon McCullum

Taking the fourth spot is the hard-hitting New Zealand cricketer, Brendon McCullum, who tallied an impressive 29 sixes during his 27 innings in the ICC ODI World Cup, spanning from 2003 to 2015.

5. Herschelle Gibbs

Claiming the fifth position is the seasoned South African cricketer, Herschelle Gibbs. Known as one of the premier power hitters of his era, Gibbs left his mark by becoming the first player to achieve the remarkable feat of hitting six consecutive sixes in a One Day International (ODI) match, accomplished against the Netherlands during the 2007 World Cup. In the tournament, Gibbs amassed a total of 28 sixes across 23 innings from 1999 to 2007.
