At the WITT Summit, former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly was asked who is the greatest player between Kohli and Tendulkar. Ganguly offered a balanced answer saying that both are legends of the game and he is extremely happy and proud that both hail from India. Ganguly went on to comment that both have contributed heavily in several wins for India and it is almost unimaginable that they still scored or scoring runs despite the immense pressure from the world.

Without naming Sachin as his preferred choice, Ganguly remarked that he was lucky to bat alongside Sachin. The former captain said that Sachin’s cricket skills gave him great impetus and motivation, helping him score more runs. Ganguly added he didn’t want the world that an average player is batting alongside the world’s best batsman.

Sachin Tendulkar Vs Virat Kohli Statistics

In test match cricket, Sachin Tendulkar has scored 15921 runs in 200 matches and 18426 runs in one-day internationals. In the Indian Premier League, Sachin has scored 2334 runs. His highest scores have been 248, 200 and 100 in test, ODI and IPL, respectively.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli has scored 9230 runs till now in 123 test matches and 14797 runs in ODI, 4188 runs in T20 and 8661 runs in IPL. His highest scores have been 254, 183, 122 and 113 in test, ODI, T20 and IPL, respectively.
