Sri Lanka batsman Avishaka Fernando ruled out of England ODI series

Sri Lankan opening batsman Avishka Fernando has been ruled out of the ODI series against England with grade 'A' of two tear quadriceps.

Fernando got injured during the second T20I due to which he missed the third game at Southampton.

"Avishka Fernando has sustained an injury to his right quadriceps (Grade 2 Tear). Fernando suffered this injury while fielding during the 2nd T20i played against England at Cardiff," tweeted Sri Lanka Cricket.

Injury is also dissapointing for the Sri Lanka batsman as this was his first tour with the national side since the COVID pandemic.

Sri Lanka has already lost the 3-match T20I series and now they will look to make their chances better in the ODI series starting Tuesday.
