T20 World Cup 2022 Don't take any team lightly World cup hero Gambhir shares important tips for team India

T20 World Cup 2022: Gautam Gambhir, former cricketer for India, said that Sri Lanka could pose a threat to India in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Gambhir said that Sri Lanka is peaking at the right time by citing the island nation’s recent Asia Cup victory. In Dubai last month, during the Super-Four stage of the continental tournament, Sri Lanka defeated India by six wickets.

“Sri Lanka, because of the kind of success they have had at the Asia Cup. The way they are playing, the way they are probably peaking at the right time,” Gambhir said while speaking on a show.

“And with Chameeraand Lahiru Kumara coming in, they probably got most of their places covered. They are going to be a threat and so they are going to take a lot of confidence in the T20 World Cup.”

On the basis of their standings from the previous tournament, Sri Lanka is one of the four teams that have qualified for the T20 World Cup’s opening round. If they place first or second in Group A, they would be eligible to advance to the Super 12 stage.

Former Indian opener shared his piece of advice

The former Indian cricketer also offered advice on how to approach each opponent at the T20 World Cup. No team should be taken lightly, according to Gambhir, as any team can shock the team in the quickest possible time.

“Just like any other game, just like against Pakistan, South Africa or any other game. No team can be taken lightly especially in a format like T20, because in a T20, the shorter the format, any team can upset anyone,” Gambhir said. On October 23 in Melbourne, India will play its opening match of the T20 World Cup against archrival Pakistan.
