T20 World Cup 2022: Is Pakistan out of the tournament? What are the possible scenarios for their semi final qualification?

T20 World Cup 2022: Zimbabwe won the Super 12 match for the first time after defeating Pakistan by one run in a nail-biting final-ball contest.

Pakistan’s tournament dreams are now in shreds after failing to attain a modest target of 131 against Zimbabwe at Perth Stadium. Pakistan, who lost to archrivals India in their opening encounter, now finds its tournament hopes in tatters.

Since Zimbabwe won, Pakistan’s chances of making it out of Group 2 and into the semifinals are more intriguing.

Pakistan must must win each of their last three games. Second, in order to sustain a positive net run rate, the men in green must triumph in each of the three games by a substantial margin.

Thirdly, they need to hope that other outcomes favour them, such as South Africa losing to India and Pakistan.

The final two of their three games against Zimbabwe should result in a defeat (versus India, Netherlands, and Bangladesh). They also need to wish for another Bangladesh defeat.
