T20 World Cup 2022

T20 World Cup 2022: By defeating Ireland by 35 runs to win their final match of the T20 World Cup 2022 group stage, New Zealand. The Kiwis have a remarkable track record in ICC competition, and they kept up that trend. They continued to play well after defeating Australia in their opening group round encounter before losing their opening match to England.

However, they recovered with a win over Ireland, and they now practically have a semifinal spot locked up. The Kiwis haven't officially qualified yet because Australia and England still have games to play, but due to their extraordinarily high net run rate, it will be very difficult for any other team to surpass Kane Williamson's team.

In yet another vital match, the captain led his team to a total of 185 runs by scoring fifty runs and dominating at the top of the order. They may have gained more, but Joshua Little, the second Irish bowler to record a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup, stepped in to prevent it.

Ireland was off to a good start but to no avail

Chasing the total of 186, no Irish batter could really stay long at the crease. Though, their start was good and had scored 68 in eight overs with loss of no wickets. However, quick wickets after that gave a victory of 35 runs to the New Zealand.

For kiwis, Kane williamson’s knock off 61 off 35 balls ensured that they set a mammoth target. Finn Allen too played a quick-fiery knock of 32 off 18 balls to give a good start.
