T20 World Cup: Pakistan win first-ever World Cup match vs India

Pakistan have won their first World Cup match vs India as beat beat Virat Kohli-led side in the ongoing T20 World Cup by 10 wickets on Sunday. The 10 wickets win has guided Pakistan to go on top of Group 2 points table.

After opting to bowl, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi had put up a splendid show with the ball as he removed India’s top three- Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli, however ended up getting a half-century while Rishabh Pant scored 39 runs with the help of two sixes and two boundaries. Hasan Ali also picked three wickets. Late finish guided India to the total of 151 runs in 20 overs.

Chasing the target of 152 runs Pakistan openers started in a attacking mode and very they got to the 100 runs partnership. The duo of Mohammad Rizwan and skipper Babar Azam remained not out in the chase and scored half-centuries.

This was Pakistan first-ever win vs India in any World Cup. The two sides have met 6 times in T20 World Cup where India have won 5 matches while Pakistan are now one up form zero.

Brief scores: India 151/7 in 20 overs (Virat Kohli 57, Rishabh Pant 39, Shaheen Afridi 3/31, Hasan Ali 2/44) lost to Pakistan 152/0 in 17.5 overs (Mohammad Rizwan 79 not out, Babar Azam 68 not out) by ten wickets.
