India defeats higher-ranked Kyrgyz Republic

Earlier, India had defeated Myanmar with a score of 1-0. Despite knowing that a draw would have been sufficient to win the trophy, Indian coach, Igor Stimac, promised to play an attacking game, and he delivered on that promise. Stadium was packed with 29,000 fans who constantly cheered upon the team.

India’s performance in this round of fixtures has been impressive, winning five consecutive home matches. Myanmar, ranked 159th in the world, was a relatively easy opponent, while the Kyrgyz Republic, ranked 94th, was expected to pose more of a challenge. However, India was largely in control of the game and emerged victorious without facing too many difficulties. This is a improvement from their 1-2 loss to the Kyrgyz Republic in 2018. Under coach Igor Stimac’s guidance, India has developed into a more cohesive and formidable team.
